Shanti — Adoption Program

Age & Sex: 3-year-old neutered male
Health: Healthy; current on shots;                       heartworm/lyme negative
Status: Microchipped
Terms: $350 with BR-NC Adoption                      Agreement
Special Needs: Must be an only dog.                    Needs room to run freely.
 

Shanti is a handsome, sweet and friendly boy of three. He loves to be loved and gets along well with adults, even strangers.  We have no history on him with children, but imagine he would be fine with older children.  Sometime in his past he was taught some verbal commands and is learning to shake hands and sit while at Jacqueline's.  He is house trained, leash trained, rides quietly in the car, behaved perfectly at the vet, and generally wants to please.  While we know almost nothing about his past, he behaves as if he has been an inside dog. 

Shanti was surrendered to us due to being other-dog aggressive.  He MUST be an only dog and cannot be taken to dog parks or any other off-lead public places for exercise. From his behavior, we believe he was attacked by another dog, probably when he was a puppy.  We do not believe he will ever tolerate or feel safe around other dogs.  While Shanti seems to have fallen on hard times (poor grooming, teeth ground down), he has begun to relax and bloom since being in foster care.

  Shanti runs with pure joy and loves to play       with his toys!  He needs a fenced yard               large enough for him to run freely and access   to the yard throughout the day. 

  Shanti is healthy, neutered, current on vet       care, microchipped, and heartworm/lyme           negative.
